About
I'm a technology leader with over 25 years in IT and digital delivery. My career has spanned policing, local and central government, and the private sector. I've led enterprise infrastructure programmes, digital transformation, and large-scale system implementations.
Between roles, I got curious about a sector I'd never worked in. Through my wife's work in funding and grants, I discovered the VCSE sector and started volunteering as a director at a couple of community interest companies. It became obvious very quickly that community groups, CICs, and smaller businesses are massively underserved when it comes to technology. They have real needs but rarely the budget or expertise to address them. I saw an opportunity to genuinely help, and that's where PMFRE Ltd came from.
Around the same time, I started exploring what was possible with AI-assisted development. What began as curiosity turned into a completely different way of working. I now use Claude Desktop for planning and strategy, and Claude Code for implementation. I don't write code; I direct it. The combination has let me build real products and infrastructure at a pace that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.
